Hi honey welling - I remember you from ABB's site! Yes, I am a Hemingway fan. That story doesn't have much of a plot, but I just always connect with the loneliness and fear of his characters. In that story, I feel like the old man, preferring light quiet cafes to dark dank rowdy bars. Like, somehow the light and order are peaceful and keep darkness and loneliness at bay, and ironically, loud raucous bars filled with noisy groups of people can be really alienating (like NY is sometimes...). And I love the depth of character that he creates with such few words and sparse language. I remember the Francis Macomber story -- it was about the man who is shot by his wife right as he is overcoming his fears -- I'm going to read it again.

These things are ideal for procrastinating-types like me (I'm supposed to be outlining!). I posted my answers over at my blog. We have an overlap on question 5 (yea, Lauren for all the reminders!). Probably see you on Wednesday; I'm w/Fred this week while Michael's in Japan.

Hi lem -- thanks, I definitely need it :) That's really funny you know my teachers! The shawl was light green, very light weight -- just enough to keep me warm in those freezing ballrooms :)

No offense, but I was really amused trying to picture your "crotched" shawl in Q.48!!!! I've taken lessons at DTS also and know your teachers, so I enjoy reading about them in your postings. Best of luck with your dancing!
