DANCE YOUR ASS OFF PREMIERES

Okay, fabulous as the new Dance Your Ass Off sounds (like a Dancing With the Stars, but with “real” people, and hosted by the always entertaining Marissa Jaret Winokur), there’s simply no way I can finish ballet season and cover So You Think You Can Dance and cover the new Oxygen Network show as well. So, I’m referring you all to wonderful writer Marie at the Ballroom Dance Channel for DYAO recaps. Enjoy!

  1. Thank you Tonya, I really appreciate that! The show is awesome…you will love it! Enjoy ballet season…I love reading all of your reviews. xoxoxo

  2. I don't get cable so I can't watch this (unless it's going to be on hulu!) but I did once lose 20 lbs of post-pregnancy weight by learning the lindy hop!

You're welcome, Marie — I really do love your recaps! I feel like I watched the show! I know, Joanna, I wish everything were on hulu. My TV's not going to last much longer and I'd so rather watch online than buy a new one. I can imagine losing weight by lindy hopping! Dance is such great exercise.

Thanks for the support! As Creator and Exec Producer of “Dance Your Ass Off” (and having lived the experience myself both gaining weight for “Shall We Dance”, then losing it with Salsa class) I am so excited to be on the radar in the dance world.
Just want to clarify that this was not based on what I understand is a British version – never saw it, had no idea it existed – just couldn't believe that having pitched it since 2005 there still wasn't a show on tv that illustrated what any dancer knows – it's fun! and happens to be good for you too!

p.s. We also have a facebook page for Dance Your Ass Off where Pro dancers, contestants and judges regularly “weigh” in (couldn't help myself!) and will be live tonight after the episode to discuss!
