VERONIKA PART ON DAVID LETTERMAN THIS THURSDAY!

I’ve been so busy, I can’t believe I almost forgot to mention this (and bouquets of thanks to one of my readers, Jennifer, for the heads up, which I confirmed by consulting an official Person in the Know):

Veronika Part, one of my favorite ballerinas of course, is going to be on Letterman this Thursday night, 7/9 at … whatever time and channel Letterman is on in your neck of the woods.

Unlike Haglund, I’ll be at ABT watching the young ‘uns take a shot at Romeo and Juliet (and watching Freddie Franklin celebrate his 95th birthday), but no way no how will I not record this. Please please please watch and tell me what you think! It’s on basically right after So You Think You Can Dance so no excuses. I can’t wait!

  1. Is Veronica going to perform or just be interviewed? It is rare that a ballerina would be asked to appear on a late night show.

Some years ago, I remembered David Letterman having a 'Top Ten' countdown of 'What Things a Ballerina Would Never Asked.'

Hi Lesley — I'm not sure whether or not she's going to perform. It would be nice if she would but the flooring might be a problem for ballet? If she does only talk, then I hope they at least show a clip or two of her dancing. It will be really interesting whatever happens. It IS rare that a ballerina is on a late night show, right! Very cool though!

Oh my God – could she have looked more stunning? – She looked so pretty! — when she came out, I actually said, out loud, “Oh, she looks so, SO pretty!…” … and then when she sat down, her dress just fell perfectly around her [-such a ballerina! ;)] *Gorgeous* dress, really, just gorgeous. Beautiful color, everything. She just won herself even more fans, I'm sure – and they've yet to see her DANCE!! 😉

Thank you, Anne! It's so nice of you to comment here right after the show! I just wrote a little play-by-play of her appearance on the show for people who might have missed it. If you think of anything I left out, please let me know! I'm so glad you watched it. And thank you also for your very nice comment on my latest Romeo and Juliet post. I'm so thankful for readers like you 🙂 I'm very glad people can sense what the performance was like through my writing. That's ultimately my goal! So thank you again!
